I did a search but didn't find exactly what I'm looking for. Hopefully somebody can help here:

I have an AEBS/modem that I have successfully configured using our PowerBook running 10.2. That's what I'm using at the moment.

NOW, what I want to do is is connect that AEBS via wire to a desktop G4 machine running 9.x, so it can serve as both modem and hub for the wireless network, and the desktop machine.

How do I do that? Ethernet cable? or crossover cable? to the back of the G4, I assume, but how do I get the G4 to see the base station as it's internet connection?

Thanks!

You shouldn't need a crossover cable; the AEBS should autodetect and configure itself for the connection.

In your G4's network settings, tell it to obtain an automatic IP address, and the rest should just flow smoothly (as long as your AEBS is providing automatic addresses...)
