I tried unsuccessfully to help a neighbor get her Apple Airport 2 (snow white 2 port) running with Verizon DSL PPPoE. Her desktop running Mac OS X 10.2.6 works just fine with the Verizon DSL line. However, if we put the identical username and password into the Airport's PPPoE settings and tried to connect to Verizon, the Airport could never synch up to the PPPoE server. Any ideas on what to do? The Airport has the latest firmware installed....4.0.8. Would the Verizon non-standard MTU cause this problem? If so, is there a workaround to change the MTU size in the Airport? There is an oblique reference in the firmware readme from Apple saying it helped with Verizon email access.

Well, this won't be much help, but I just bought a new airport extreme and it works without a hitch on my verizon dsl via pppoe.
