Has anyone had any experience with the Netgear WG614 wireless router (or its close relative, the WG602, and Airport Extreme Macs?

I'd just like to know what interoperability issues, if any, there are between AE an the Netgear wireless router before i go out and buy it. They are both 802.11g, but I keep hearing that there are issues between these two because of the draft standard. Anyone have any experience?

I'd like to know too. They should be at least compatible at 802.11b speeds. I'm thinking of getting a WG602 at some point, but I might put it off until we get firewire updates for the final standard.

Well it goes like this: Using the Netgear WGR614 with a 12in Powerbook running OS 10.2.6. Configuration is all fairly straightforward via the router's web interface. However... if I connect to the router via wired ethernet all's well. If I connect via Airport I can see the router, but NO INTERNET. It's as if DNS fails over wireless for some reason (this is via Verizon DSL, btw). I've confirmed that the router is pulling correct IP info from the modem, and that the laptop is receiving an IP via DHCP from the router. I went ahead and manually input the correct DNS settings into System Prefs- still no dice. I have of course flashed the most current firmware to the router, and disabled all access controls/encryption. Any thoughts? Save for this minor niggling problem =) I'm really pleased with the router, signal is rock solid wherever I take the laptop.

Huh. Did 2 things: Moved AIRPORT to the top of the Network Port Configurations dialog in the Network pane in System Prefs, then deleted a custom Network Port Config I'd set up to experiment with my cell phone, which I suppose could have been interfering with Airport connectivity somehow (even though the laptop was always able to successfully find the router and signal was strong). Regardless, I'm now surfing the net wirelessly with joyous abandon.
