I have bought one of these to share my cable connection between two OS X.2 computers.

Previously I was running NAT on one machine and connecting the other through it. There were no real problems with that but it does mean leaving the machine on and the 'local' network things were a bit flaky.

However as soon as I start using the dlink router everything becomes desperately slow. It seems that each computer (entire network?) is limited to FOUR tcp connections. This makes browsing slow especially if Mail is doing anything or I am downloading file. (Set four files downloading and nothing else will work!) It is also very unreliable - just couldn't download the developer tools, kept timing out - fine without the router.

Technical support told me I would find the router slow. I'd be a bit miffed if I was on a really fast connection and this happened!!

I'd be interested to know if anyone else has/has not got this problem. Any suggestions (MTU, ACK etc). What can I log to see if there is a problem.

As always any ideas greatly appreciated.

James
