I'd like to make my ti867 wireless compatible. The other computer that would be connected to the system is a PC desktop. Currently they share a cable connection via a wired router.
Before I make any purchases, I would like to know that everything would work the way that it should and be compatible.
1) I've heard that airport reception in powerbooks is expceptionally weak. I would like to be able to be upstairs and still get a strong reception as that is where my desk is. My desk is directly above the base station.
2) Can anyone reccomend a router that will work well with my ti and pc (preferably someone who has done this before). I am leaning toward linksys for the base station and I plan on using a airport card.
3) Any other advice is appreciated.

1) define "exceptionally weak"?
Will you get 300 ft out of it? no. but you won't with any other wireless base station/card combo.
No one will be able to predict what signal strength you'll get since there are too many variables, but if your work station is directly above where you intend to put the base station, I wouldn't expect you to have any problem.

2) To be perfectly honest, any of the common brands are going to work approximately equally. I don't have any compelling argument for or against any of the wireless base stations/routers I've used. It's personal preference. All I can say is if you stick with a known brand you're not likely to go wrong.

3) Wireless networking in the home is so common now most, if not all of the kinks have been worked out long ago. Take advantage of other people's pain and go for it.
