Actually, the best thing for your situation is probably a "wireless bridge" like Linksys' WET11 or D-Link's DWL-810+. They plug into an ethernet port, you configure them with your browser, and then they connect you wirelessly. No sweat, though they are kind of pricey.

The D-Link box is compatible with ANYTHING THAT USES ETHERNET. XBox, PS2, anything. No drivers needed, no OS upgrade needed, just plug it in and go. Honest! The same is true for the Linksys box. I think that SMC makes one too. The point is all you need is an ethernet port on your computer and a browser to configure the box. Just because the site doesn't explicitly state that the device supports Macs doesn't mean that it won't work, at least in this case.

You'll go to a local IP address (something like 192.168.1.1) and the configuration options will come up in your browser. Really simple, and easy to use, this sort of configuation concept has opened a lot of devices up to Mac users-no need for a platform specific configuration app!

If you are still looking for a USB Wireless adapter for the Mac D-link just introducted the DWL-122 which works great with airport or any other access point. You might want to check it out. It list for $60.00.

Are you using this adapter? I got one and the driver installed OK but the machine crashed on restart. Did so 3 times. Disconnected the adapter and restarted fine but gave a kernal panic when I attached the adapter.

Was hoping....but had to send it back - which has been my luck lately.

Belkin makes the F5D6050 USB Adapter I'm currently using it with a beige G3 running OS X 10.2.6. They have the manual and drivers available for download. Not bad for $22.50, refurbished. Gets good range in my house (just as good if not better than my iMacs, powerbook, and DA G4.
best of luck,
dave

This is too cool! Finally, something that a)is supposed to work with any Mac OS and b)actually does work with Mac OS! I hope this is the start of a trend...
