I remember reading something about people using two 56k modems together to "double" their dialup connection...

My apartment building is wired to a T1 connection. It's included in the rent. Unfortunately, for some reason it is very unreliable. It goes down for days at a time.I am a web developer and work at home. So I had to have cable internet installed as a backup.

My question is...is there a way to connect both high speed connections at the same time and "double" my speed?

Thanks

Yes, there are a couple of dual-broadband connection routers out there. None that cheap though. I know a lot of online traders use them with both cable and DSL.

If you have a spare machine lying around, Vicom's InterGate ( http://www.vicomsoft.com/vig/vig.main.html ) supports both connection fallback (where it brings up a secondary (or tertiary) connection when the primary one fails) and connection teaming (where it uses multiple connections simultaneously to increase throughput).

Technically you can run on on your work machine, but I wouldn't recommend that unless absolutely necessary.
