I have a TiBook, and I'm having trouble connecting with my friends XP laptop. We share a dial-up internet connection, and I used to be able to use it via the lan. Now I can't. I have had this trouble before, and then I fixed it somehow, and now its back and I'm stuck. help please!!!!

Which machine is sharing the connection? You might try using the other machine to share the connection until you get it resolved.

Have tried that and it doesn't seem to make any diference. Does having automatic IP on the xp machine hinder the effort - will set IPs work. Its just annoying seeing as it was working!

Also with an AE base station, can you use ethernet connection too if you want to?

Automatic IP addressing (also known as DHCP) is never a problem on a network where everything is setup correctly. If you are sharing FROM the XP machine, make sure your TiBook is set to automatically receive an IP address, or Windows Internet Connection Sharing may give you some problems. That's probably true the other way around, but I've never messed with static IPs while sharing from a Mac...

One of the great things introduced with the Snow ABS was the second, LAN-side, ethernet port, which has been retained with the AEBS. Go ahead and use it, and see if your problem is network in general or wireless specifically.
