We have 2 existing PCs hooked up to our Linksys Wireless Router (4 ports). One PC is wireless, the other is cabled in.

Our new Emac is coming soon but it has no wireless capacity, just the ethernet port. We plan to run an ethernet cable into the Linksys router and operate the Mac online via our DSL. The Emac will be ruinning OS X.

So my newbie question: are there any instructions or links on the web we can use to do this? The Linksys web page makes droning noises how they do not support Macs.

To get this particular set-up working, you will need to:

Plug the ethernet cable into your eMac.

Enjoy.

aaanorton's right-post if you have any problems with his instructions!

Linksys doesn't support any Mac OS issue. Fortunately, there is no Mac OS issue in this case. The disclaimer noise is there to keep the incredibly dense from flooding Linksys with requests for support that boil down to "how do I use my Mac?"

Enjoy!
