Here is my general set up. My Server running OS X is connected to the internet and among its duties, it acts as a router to the rest of the network. One of the computers on this network is my G4 tower. It has an airport card in it and shares its internet via that card to my iBook. Now every computer can connect to every other computer, EXCEPT the iBook gets a -36 error when I try to connect to the G4 tower. It gets the Server fine and the G4 gets the iBook fine. Very strange. I can't figure it out at all.

Since error -36 is an authentication error, something on your G4 is not seeing the iBook's credentials the same way the other computers are. It may have something to do with the AirPort network password.
Since there are only two wireless computers (that you mention), it seems to be a good bet to simply turn off the password (or change it to blank) on both and see if they connect then. If they do, that's exactly what the problem was, and you merely have to be very careful when keying in the new password.

Any password protected shares on the G4? Any that used to be but "aren't" anymore? I've seen shares that had their permissions changed show up wrong with some versions of Samba (can't remember which right now, though). My solution was to "delete" the share-make the folder not shared-then share it again with a different name. I'm not sure which step fixed the problem.

Nope never done anything special at all with filesharing on the G4. I don't even get to the point where you select the drive, i choose it in the windows, and as soon as I give it my user name and password, it instantly gives me a -36

Man, that's got me stumpped. Of course I'm not a Samba guru or anything, but it usually makes sense. Ok, I'll shout out for you:
"HELP!!!"

I can connect to the PowerMac from the iBook using ftp through the finder, but using AFP instantly gives me the -36 error. Its the strangest thing. And its also becoming quite a problem.

I am having a similar problem. I have a G4 tower and a iBook sharing a connection through my airport.
Before, I could connect the both of them together using afp. Then, for some strange reason the tower decided it didn't like the iBook anymore and stopped connecting to it. But I could still connect to the tower through the iBook using afp. Until today.
I have tried restarting, repairing my permissions, restarting again, lighting candles and incense. My next step is offering my first born.
I the the reccomendations posted, but nothing worked, so far.

Come to find out I also get this problem going from my Server to my G4 tower. And again, my G4 tower stays logged on to my server virtually 24 hours a day. Yet try to to the other way and its -36. This is such a pain in the ass what could be causing it?
