I'm late to the wireless party, and know very little about how to get in the door. I've got an FP iMac, and will soon be buying a 12" PowerBook. I have DSL access and want to go wifi in my house.

Let's assume I'm going to go AirPort. (I know other wireless routers are cheaper, but my brain is only so big and I can't handle too many variables at one time.)

Based on my very limited and possibly erroneous knowledge of these things, am I right that this would be a valid setup:

1. AirPort Base Station, with my DSL modem hooked into the WAN port via ethernet cable.

2. My iMac hooked into the LAN port of the Airport Base Station, via ethernet cable.

3. My PowerBook linking up via Airport Extreme.

Is that right? The main thing is I want to confirm that I can connect my iMac to the base station via wire, and I don't need to buy an Airport card just for that.

Thanks. I apologize for any stupidity exhibited above.

No stupidity at all. Your planned setup will work just fine; you covered all the bases.
