I've got two macs and have enabled sharing between the two machines. I can hit Cmd K and punch in the afp://ip address of the other machine and create a shortcut on my desktop to the share on the other machine with no problem. I can copy file FROM that share and can copy files TO that share with no problem.
I'd like to be able to use the file open command to open a file on the other machine - or to simply double-click on that file from the finder and open it in my application. Can't seem to do it...
I receive a messages that says:
" 'filename' cannot be accessed. The file may be read-only, or you may be trying to access a read-only locaiton. Or, the server the document is stored on may not be responding."
Hmmm... I know it's not a read only share because I can copy the file from the share to my local machine, make changes all day long, and then copy back (thus overwriting) to the remote machines.
Any ideas?
thanks - danbrew
