Please forgive me if this is a question that has already been covered.

I have a friend that has a TiBook and that is wanting to go wireless, but he doesn't want to shell out the big $$$ for an airport base. My question is, "Is there an alternative to the airport, that offers internal 56k dialup / aol support like the airport"?

I thought belkin had something like this but I cant find it.

Thanks,
Michael

If your friend is willing to go with an external modem, there are a number of alternatives available. For example, the SpeedStream 2623 Wireless DSL/Cable router includes both a parallel printer print server and a DB9 serial port for operating an external modem. Note that the "AOL support" in the AirPort products is primarily tweaking which ports are opened for AOL's connections. Connecting with AOL is usually managed with just a little extra configuration effort by the user, and this particular router has specific instructions for doing just that.
