my bellsouth dsl keeps going out, i heard that dsl providers try to detect if you're using routers/hubs to connect multiplle computers (they don't want that)

i recently added this airport to my dsl modem two weeks ago, i'm wondering if bellsouth is gonna find out bout it

I had bell south dsl for a year. Worst service I've ever met. They kept telling me there was nothing wrong with my line.

Switched to Directv dsl and after a few weeks, phoned them to complain. The next day there was a bell south engineer at my house who confirmed there was a wiring problem with my internal phone wires. They fixed that, but I was still having problems.

Another call to Directv and they ran some tests and sure enough there was a bad pair in the street that I was connected to. Once they switched me over everything was good.

It seems as though if you're a direct customer you get shafted, but if you go through another company then swb have contracts they have to keep to. I wouldn't go back to sw hell if you paid me.

Just my 2c.

The problem with the Bells is that they aren't used to being customer oriented. If you keep on their... well, keep bothering them, like daily, they usually get something done. On the other hand, a big customer, like Direct DSL, can demand immediate action, because of the nature of their relationship-it's governed by FCC rules about service provided to other businesses.
