I'm moving to France in about two months and would love to use a wireless router. I will have a cable modem that, I've been told, can be connected to a WiFi system. Has anyone tried setting up a wireless network in Europe? Can I buy a router in the US and use it in France with a 220 plug adapter? Would this work with Airport/Airport Extreme? Thanks for any help!

check the router manufacturers website or manual. My netgear router is ok'd for use in Europe.

As long as it is CE marked you should be fine. I know that airport works over there, as several of my friends have them.

Cheers,

J.

Actually, France is one of the European countries that you have to be concerned about when selecting WiFi equipment. France only authorizes 4 channels, while elsewhere in Europe there are 13 available channels. Make sure you specify a France-approved product before you buy.
