Ive finally got the wireless to work. i now have my imac wired to my router and my powerbook on the network wireless. the problem is my siblings want the pc to go online aswell. now i though this is simple, i just wire the pc to the router. but for some reason, the router could not find the pc(lights on the router didnt blink). I know its not the wires as i swapped the cables from the imac to the pc and this time the pc was connected and the imac wasnt. it gets more weird. when i hard wire the pc and my powerbook (or imac and powerbook) the router recongizes that both are cabled to the router????
all the computers are using auto dhcp so i cant see why they arent all working together? does anyone know the reason why this is happening? i couldnt care less about it normally as itsonly a pc,but when i go to networking my ps2 and gamecube, this will happen and want to sort this out.

Sounds to me as if one of the cables you are trying to use is a straight-through cable and the other is a cross-over. Some computers can auto sense the difference and others can't.

Check the end wiring of your cables against the wiring diagram found here:

Agreed. And further, you'll want to stick with straight-through cables for your set up.
All recent Macs have auto-sensing boards, so that could explain why the iMac worked, but the PC didn't.
