Greetings,
Having used windows based computer since win 3.0, I feel a little lost with Mac OS X. I'm the only person on our LAN that has made the switch, and I don't regret it at all. However, I can't print to the laser printer that is shared on a Win98 machine. The printer is an HP 2200dn that is attached to the parallel port. The printer is shared as evidenced by all of the other windows users being able to print to it. I can connect to the Win98 computer as a server, however, I can't see the printer while trying to install a new printer through print center. I can see other networked printers, alas not the Win98 shared one. As I'm new to the Mac OS, be gentle. Thanks in advance for all and any help you may be able to provide.
Respectfully,
R. Truax

This sounds like a job for Samba! Or maybe Gimp-print. Samba is an application that allows Macs to interact with a Windows network file system, while Gimp-print is specific to networked printing.

Samba comes with OS X.xxx, so you should be able to run it without too much searching. For all the documentation, go to the Samba web site (choose the appropriate local web site from this page), and look for the documentation link.

Rather than walk you through step by step (and maybe throw a typo at you and have to take the blame ), see if that documentation helps you solve your problem. I think it's pretty easy, but then, I think a lot of things are pretty easy...
