Hi..

I have SBC Yahoo! DSL and want to connect an AEBS with:

an iBook (through the airport card)
MDD Powermac (through the Ethernet port)
a new HP Printer (through the USB port)

The AEBS must connect to the ISP through PPPoE with a username and password.

When I sign in, I have full signal and "Internet Connect" says "connected to your ISP for 00:00:16" (or however long it's been connected), but when I open a browser it just lags and finally says "unable to establish connection to PPP server" or something similar to that.

When I had Verizon DSL, there was no username/password needed to connect & this configuration worked perfectly, but this SBC DSL configuration has me stumped. I've searched Google, Yahoo, and these forums for an answer but I haven't been able to figure it out.. could anyone help?

Thanks for any help.

Just a guess, but...

I went nuts a month ago setting up my new SBC DSL and 814 router till I realized I was trying to keep it on PPPoE.

It uses DHCP.

If you know for sure that it is PPPoE, then set the AEBS to connect using the PPPoE username and password. Then set your computer to connect to the AEBS with just DHCP. You see the AEBS logs on and maintains a connection to your ISP's servers. Then you just connect to it without needing your password again.
