alright, so we're seeting up a wireles network. I was under the impression that i could connect with my airport card to any 802.11b wireless network that they connect to but some guy at best buy put some doubt in me by say that wasn't the case.
So, short of buying a Airport base Station (too expensive) what can i use to set up my network?
thanks

You can get a Netgear wireless/wired router from Amazon.com for $25 after rebates! I use one and have set them up for other people, they work great. I use mine with my iBook. I think some guy at best buy is just dumb. You will be able to use all your computers with one of these.

You should be able to use an Airport card with any 802.11b network. Apple follows the standard pretty well.

one last question (hopefully)
do all wireless routers work like the airport base station in that i don't have to have it connected to any computers while it's running?
