Mac/PC networking-Help!

	I'm trying to network my iBook to my Compaq desktop (XP pro). The compaq only recognizes my iBook as a network drive and the iBook can't even ping the PC. I got Remote Desktop connection to work fine and both can connect to the internet alright. I cannot connect to the PC though the mac except through RDC. I want to file share and use my HP PSC2110 connected to my PC. Workgroup name is the same for both, but neither computer will recognize the other is on the network.
