I have an iBook SE with an Airport Card and an AP Extreme Basestation. My wife has a PC laptop and is thinking about getting a wireless card. My question is can she use my airport basestation? Will it matter what card she uses? If so which one(s).

Thanks in advance!

Yes.
No.
Just get any 802.11b card, since you wouldn't be able to take advantage of .11g anyway.

If she gets an 802.11g card, she'll be ready when Centris650 wants to upgrade his iBook to something newer. File Transfers between the computers will be faster. Internet access won't, unless you have your own T3 Internet connection, which is unlikely.

Anyway, any 802.11b or 802.11g card should work with the Airport.

Cool. I thought it would work but you never know. I just wanted to make sure before I put the cash down for a Wireless Network Card.

Thanks everyone!

(Oh, I'll probably get the .11g card since I'll be getting a G5 within the year. Might hold out for a 3 gig.)

But wouldn't that be plugged into the network (not wireless)? Keep in mind that as long as that iBook is on the network, you'll be locked into b, since everything has to slow down for compatibility.
