Does anyone have any idea what might cause this problem? My roommate and I have 2 G5s hooked up to a Netgear MR814v2 router (wired) and an iBook too (wireless). We have a motorola cable modem and Comcast for a provider. All three computers will randomly lose the internet connection. We can still access the LAN, though. If we power cycle the router, it is fixed, or it will come back up in 15-30 minutes or so if we don't. Comcast wants to blame it on the router, but I have a suspicion it isn't. Anyone have any idea what might be causing this?

I see this with my cable service sometimes too. Just wait it out. It should resolve itself. If not, get on your ISPs ass.

update: I tried hooking one G5 straight to the modem, and the problem persisted.

Yep. That's that, then. Your cable co. needs to figure out what's going wrong on their end. If they have to come to your house, have them bring you a new cable modem too. Why not?

Well, I own the modem...but I agree, it's their problem and they ought to fix it for free.
