I've got a Linksys wireless router, and I share it between 2 iBooks and a PC at home.

I can use DMZ on the PC, to enable all ports so I can use ICQ and IRC and stuff like that, but on my iBook, DMZ doesn't seem to work?

Software used on iBook:
IRC client - iRC
ICQ client - ICQ for Mac

iBook - 700/combo/10.2.6
Router - BEFSR41W

Thanks! Need all the help I can get.

Are you trying to place your Mac in the DMZ while the PC is there, or are you removing the PC's address and replacing it with the Mac's address. Although you can sometimes get it to work, most routers only really do well with a DMZ if the computers are all given fixed LAN IP addresses.

Yeah, I'm replacing the PC's address with the Mac's.

Ok, here's what I hope is a stupid question. Have you turned off the internal firewall in your OS? I've seen computers delivered with the firewall fully enabled (and thus the user completely isolated from the Internet!) or I wouldn't even dream of asking this.
