Greetings,
I fishing for solutions to a strange coincidence I'm experiencing. My Direct TV signal has become patchy at best. I rewired all of the cable with little improvement. The strange thing as that the DSS behavior problem started around the same time that I installed a wireless network in my home. Has anyone heard of 802.11b interfering with a Direct TV signal. It seems highly unlikely to me, yet the coincidence is uncanny. I'm deparate for ideas and alas, google has failed to locate a solution. Thanks.

It doesn't bother mine but on the other hand my dish is on the other side of the house from my access point. I thought the wireless bandwidth was way off from the DSS though.

Did you check your dish connections outside? Maybe you have an LNB golng bad. Not saying it's not the wireless network but thinking of things I know that can make the DSS act flakey.

Worst case power down the wireless network for a day or so and see if the DSS keeps acting up. If it does then it is more than likely something there. If it goes away then the wireless is a strong candidate and you may need to move the access point further away from the dish

DirecTV's downlink frequency is in the 12.2-12.7GHz range, so there shouldn't be any interaction between that and your 2.4GHz wireless network.

I would inspect all of the TV connections, particularly the grounding block, for corrosion, tightness, etc. I'd also recheck the antenna's alignment; a bird bumping his head on your dish could move it enough to make your signal pretty weak.
