I have a new 15" PB with the AirPort Extreme card. I also have a Netgear WGR614 Wireless router. When I set this unit up, my PB saw the router instantly and I was up and running. After a while, when I would wake from sleep or boot up, it would recognize the Netgear router but not let me connect to the internet or to my network. I would use the Airport Setup Assistant and the problem would remedy itself. Now, the PB can see the router, but can't connect, no matter how many times I run AirPort Setup Assistant.

How can I fix this problem? Is it router related? PB related?
It I want your opinion, I'll beat it out of you.

UPDATE:

I was successfully able to connect to the AirPort base station at the Apple store. So the problem can be isolated to my Netgear router.

Have you looked at Netgear's tech support site to see if there are issues with your router? It seems that a lot of different 802.11g products have "issues." Most of the time it's due to something in the firmware that doesn't keep up with some setting or other, and there have been updates to fix those problems. Other times (and it depends on the manufacturer) they ask you to return the product and they send you a new one.

Netgear is pretty Mac-friendly (not groveling, like Asante' can be) so they may have specific fixes for Mac-related problems on their site as well.
