Okay, so... I posted in the netorking area of this forum a week or so ago regarding my new G5 and how it plays with my company's active directory services...

Before, it was kinda a pain in the a$$, but I could still browse and mount shared drives, etc.

Just installed Panther, and let me tell you.... holy crap... it's FREAKING AWESOME...

...

However, now, when I 'apple-k' to connect to a shared network volume, and hit the 'browse' button, i can see the domain that i need to connect to... that's great... when i click on the proper domain, i should then see all the networked computers within that domain... but nothing!!!

n:

i can still connect to the drive i need right now, since the proper volume was in my history from the Jaguar days, but this is NOT good!!! What happens when I need to connect to another volume? Since I can't browse the domain, I'm currently SOL. I may have an army of switchers on my hands if we can see the computers in this crappy windows active services domian!!

Any input?

One thing that I found to help is to open Directory Access, configure SMB, and type in the old domain name there (the NT4 compatible one). Type in a WINS server as well, and see if that improves things.

Now if I could just figure out how to log in as a domain user and not a local user on my Panther Powerbook.
