I have a couple questions about using Airport because I have never used it. I have an iMac G4 and an iBook 700. I also have cable internet. I want to use my iBook with Airport but I don't care if my iMac has it. I don't want to spend the money on an Airport Extreme card right now. I would like to be able to use both computers on the net at the same time. Is this possible and how does it work? Any advice would be helpful.

I like this. It'll do everything you want and you just can't beat that price.

aanorton...
That IS a great deal. I've got an old (graphite) ABS & I hear that two stations can be linked in "repeater"(?) mode to extend range?
Do you know how that is done? Is it a *wireless* repeating (graphite ABS has no extra ethernet ports).
Thanks again for the bargain link!

So...I could use this in place of an Apple base station. It would be compatilbe with an Airport card. I could run my iBook and iMac on the net at the same time. If all this is true, I'm sold.
Thanks

Wireless bridging is only available on the new AEBSes. You can always do wired bridging, but you'd have to reverse the order of your devices. You could set the MR814 up as the router (connected directly to your modem) and bridge to the ABS. You would need to set the ABS in bridge mode, disable DHCP serving.

Consider yourself sold.
When ordering, try to specify an MR814v2. Sometimes they send the original model (MR814), which isn't the end of the world, but it's still worth a shot.

I received the router this week. It is the v2. I finally hooked it up and it does everything I need it to do. OSX recognized it and sent me on my way. This baby saved me a ton of money not having to buy an Airport Base Station. Thanks.
