OK, I am at work and I am trying to connect to the shared folders on our quasi server running OS 9.x. On and before Friday I had no problem (btw I am using panther). Some of the machines, including all of the PC's, I can see. Most of the other Macs, all running OS 9.x (not my call) I cannot. Is there a way to refresh my list? We are using DHCP. Please help, I am not getting anything done and I am starting to feel like I am on a Windows machine.

How are you trying to connect to them?
What is your IP address?
What are the IPs of the other machines?

I am trying to connect through the finder>network.

The IP Addresses are 192.168.0.xx

I am connecting to the hub, which is connected to the Macs through AEBS.

Like I mentioned, I did not have a problem on Friday.

Edit: And AppleTalk is on, on both Macs.

Well, I went back to the server and checked "Allow connection through DHCP". I was able to connect by using command+K. So Appletalk does not seem to be working, any thoughts on that?

So I lost connection to the server through DHCP, but was then able to connect via Appletalk. Really don't know what is going on. Well, I can get on now, anyways.

For some reason, Panther's ability to browse a network for AppleTalk servers is turned off by default. To turn it back on, go to Applications -> Utilities -> Directory Access, and put a check in the box next to AppleTalk (you'll need to click the lock icon and enter your admin password first).

I found this tip at <http://www.macosxhints.com/>
all's well that ends well
