Apple boasts its ability to interconnect Macs with Windows, but I'm not having such luck. My parents and my brother both use PC with me being the lone Mac user (they are slowly being converted). Their computers can see each other's shares, but when I do a CMD + K to connect to a remote server, nothing comes up. Similarly, Windows printers are shared on both PCs, but Panther doesn't show them in the Add Printer window.

Am I missing something?

Are they using TCP/IP for file and print sharing? They could be using NetBEUI, in which case you wouldn't be compatible. If they're all using TCP/IP also, make sure you are all on the same subnet and that everyone has the same workgroup name.

I'm almost certain they're using TCP/IP, but if you let me know how to check I'll make sure. I know that the PCs all have the same domain, but I'm not sure how to change it on the Mac. I think Panther defaults to 'Workgroup' but the PCs are in a domain called 'Home'.

Are you all connected through a router? Are you all set to use DHCP? Are you all on the same subnet?
