Hi Folks!

I´m looking into converting an old Wallstreet PB into a VoIP Gateway...

openh323.org tells me, there´s a suitable PSTN-Gateway available for all platforms...
But what kind of Modem/ISDN-Dongle will do the trick? Those Quicknet-Cards are way too expensive...

Using the Wallstreet lets me decide between serial, USB and PC-Card...

Has anyone set up something similar?
Recommendations?
Greetings,
Morgoth

I was looking into this not too long ago as well. I've been using Asterisk . Works fine on OS X and I've been using Cisco SIP phones for VoIP testing, but I'm not sure what else there is beyond Quicknet cards, save for Digium for access to PSTN, which are not available for the expansion possibilities on your Pbook. I still have research to do. Post back if you come up with a decent lowcost solution for Macs if you can.

Here's an overview of configuration if you want to try another method of VoIP. Onlamp Article

Aaah, a reply at last

well, Asterisk says it will support any device supported by ISDN4Linux...

What if i simply took a Wintel-PCMCIA-Card (Elsa, FritzCard...) supported by ISDN4Linux and put it into the Powerbookt?

...should work, unless I´m missing some Details...
ISDN4Linux would have to be available for OS X though...

...this would be a worthy alternative, though...
Greetings,
Morgoth
