Hi
I have a Ti book (867 running OS 2.8) an i book (800 G3 same) and a PC laptop hooked up via cards to an airport extreme base station, running into a cable modem supplied by telewest.
I originally had problems setting up the PC (who would have guessed) as the buffolo card i;m using kept wanting to try to find an station of it's own. But i got that sorted, I thought by having to set the channel on the Airport utility to 1.
Over the last two or three weeks, about once every two or three days Safari would stick: telling me, no matter what address i typed in, that it could not find it. If the problem appeared on one mac it was on both.
The funny (strange) thing is that when i went over to the PC and started up the browser on that, this action somehow unstuck the problem with the Macs and the browser (Safari or Explorer) started to respond as normal.
The PC no longer performs this admirable function, it's just as disconnected as the other 2, though as with them it shows a reasonable signal strength being recieved from the Airport (thanks primarily to there being an omni antennae connected to the Airport.)
I've disconnected the airport and am sending this via the ethernet port, so the problem is not with the internet provider, or the modem as far as i can see.
I've run Norton to see if there were any hardware problems: nothing.
I would trash this version of safari and download another from Apple,in the hope that that might solve it, but of course it's not posted anymore.
I haven't yet contacted apple with the problem as when i originally went to them with Airport issues (Ti book 'reception') they suggested i look here for an answer, so i though i'd come to you guys, and gals, first.
Any suggestions, please?
