Trying to find a solution for my girlfriends old mac. We are trying to tap into the wi-fi network that is running in her apartment building so she can take advantage of faster internet. I've been searching and asking around about a wireless PCI card for her Mac, a Beige G3 Minitower.
There are several options i am aware of(USB, Ethernet, PCI) but which one actually works well with this machine and with OS9.1?
If anyone can help us out we would appreciate it.

Checked out the Cisco solution and seems pretty pricey. Epinions $160 Ebay $100. Are there other less expensive solutions? I've seen USB ones that seems more in our price range BUT have found most don't support OS9/X. So far the Cisco is the only solution that would work but it would be expensive.

If you do have USB, I would recommend the Belkin 802.11b Wireless USB Adapter, pt F5D6050. You can get it refurbished for $22.49. That is what I have set-up on my daughter's 233 mhz beige g3 tower and it works great (especially at that price)
Good luck,
David

My recommendation would be a LinkSys WET-11 Wireless to Ethernet Bridge.
It connects to your ethernet port and requires no drivers. It is platform independent and can be used with any computer and any OS. This makes it a very flexible solution.
I have used one very successfully with a Bondi Blue iMac.
You can also uplink the WET-11 to a hub and use it to connect more than one wireless device at a time to your wireless network (sharing the bandwidth of course).
DLink makes a similar device, and LinkSys also makes a wireless G version the WET54G

We've decided to go with the above mentioned, Belkin 802.11b Wireless USB Adapter. For the price and we need it to do - this is a perfect solution for us. Thanks for all the help.
