This newbie just bought a Linksys wireless 802.11b router but the box (unopened) and website says nothing about Macs and I assume the included install CD wizard wont do for me. I am using OS 10.2.6 and one desktop with an ethernet cable and one old iBook with an airport card and have Airport Admin Utility 3.1.1 and the Airport Card Setup utility. Will both of these do to set it up. Back in VA where I have a wired Friendly net router, I remember going to the Asante website and following their instructions to get the router going, but they were Mac friendly. And does anyone know if the model BEFW11S4 needs a firmware update?

Great help in many ways. Thanks, John, and this is the second time you helped me out. The last was in Virginia a few years ago when I was trying to connect a wired Farralon router which just would not let me do what it was supposed to do on the internet connection and which was replaced with a Friendly net which really was "friendly"

The article in John's link is about the best, most thorough coverage of how to use a Linksys wireless device I've ever seen. Linksys doesn't have enough support people to cover both Windows and Mac OS (they ignore all the other OSs, as well), so what you get in the box is all aimed at Windows users. It's good to see that someone has written that "missing manual" for Mac OS.
