Hello all,
First off I have searched all over for answers to these questions and came up dry. If these topics have been covered except my apologies.
My first question is: using an airport extreme card in my 17" powerbook, can I choose to use .11b over .11g? I can forsee situations in which I might prefer to speak b instead of g.
Second question: Is there any decent software for 10.3 that will show me all the access points nearby? A coworker has some software that came with his SMC PCMCIA card (pc laptop) and he detects like 9 APs in areas where I only see 2 with programs like KisMAC, iStumbler, MacStumbler, etc. His software is just run of the mill SMC stuff, nothing fancy. Also, his will show APs that aren't broadcasting their SSIDs, where none of the software I've found for 10.3 (at least with the extreme chipset) will.
Thanks in advance.
