$69.99 @ compusa buys master and slave bluetooth usb devices to wirelessly connect printer and computer. The box says 100 feet range. Its a direct connection -- and will not work with existing wireless networks, like airport.

I'm concerned that the price it too good for the range. Especially knowing my house construction gives my airport two bar fits just from one story to the next. 802.11b print servers cost $99 -- should I bite the $30 difference?

Does anyone have expereince with this product? Is 100 feet via bluetooth reliable? Will print requests take all day...

Some Bluetooth dongles have decent range, but usually not as good as 802.11 wireless.

I would go ahead and spend the extra money, mainly because the bandwidth of WiFi is a lot higher, so printing should be faster and more reliable.

...so long as you're sure the WiFi print server is Mac compatible. I just got an Airport Extreme Base Station, but HP has not updated the driver for my all-in-one for Panther yet! argh.

thanks for the advice, knowing that my airport has trouble with the house construction I found a way to move the printer and use the old fashioned usb cable.
