I have my computer setup through a Netgear FVS318 router and I just got an Airport Extreme Base Station and I want to set it up but I am a little confused how to do it. As it is right now I have the modem cable going into the router and a cable from the router going out to the Ethernet port on my desktop G4. Do I plug the AEBS from the WAN port to an empty space on my router? I want to use it with my PB and a PC. Can I share files going through the router between my PB and Desktop over the wireless connection without the AEBS beinig plugged into the LAN port on the BS? I am very confused about how to set this up correctly, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Nevermind I figured it out, however I opened up the Airport Admin Utility and tried to configure the network to make sure I had it set for 802.11 B and G and I keep getting a popup window saying the utility was unable to read the configuration of the selected base station, an error occurred while reading the configuration. Any idea what this could be? I guess I will try re-setting up the base station from scratch and see what happens. Thanks.

Did you have the AEBS connected via a cable to the computer through the router or wireless? You must have physical connection to run the setup utility and admin utility. Be sure that if your router is providing DHCP services that you turn off the DHCP services in the AEBS.

I have the AEBS plugged into an available out port on the router. I ran the setup of the AEBS through my PB over the wireless connection though...is this going to be aproblem? It seems to be working great so far. I have my wifes PC an my TI PB running off it beautifly. Thanks.

See what happens if you plug directly into the AEBS (not even wired through the router). I'll bet you can configure it that way.

AirPort hardware has a habit of not liking to be configured through a wireless link.
