They installed a Linksys WRT54G (dual b/g) network at the the office, upgrading from a WEP11. I am no longer connecting with Airport. I don't even see any signal. I have an old Tibook 500MHz (MACOS 9.1). Any hope? Or, am I relegated to the indignity of being a wired laptop.

Left behind by technology again...

It sounds like they set the new wireless to "802.11g-only," which means you're stuck. Your older AirPort card is 802.11b. While most "G" access points are capable of connecting "B" clients, it requires the ENTIRE WIRELESS NETWORK to work at "B" speeds, which is probably why they set things this way. Now is the time to get "them" to buy you a "G" adapter!

I'm not sure on this one but i think the powerbook has a PC slot, does it not? If it does then have the company get you a "g" card like the other poster said-
