Hi I am a newbie to Mac and I have been trying to access the internet through our school access point (CISCO) since the beginning of this school year. I have already all the necessary configurations: with IP address , proxy, apple talk, and everything but everytime I browse the internet, I always got the message "...not Found". I have a very strong Airport signal but its status says not connected. i already tried a ping and showed I am receiving data. Guys am I missing something?

you probably need to enter a proxy server... ask an admin there.

oops I do see you added the proxy... my bad.

bring up a terminal and type "nslookup" to see if you have a DNS issue. It should provide you with a name/IP of the server it's using for name resolution. Do you know an IP for a site outside your network? See if you can get to it by IP, if so, it's a DNS issue. Good luck.
