dsl being terminated by communications device?

for the past hour, every 15 minutes, it seems that my dsl connection is terminated.

It just happened again:

"The connection was terminated by the communication device. Please verify settings and try again."

wtf?

What connection software/router are you using? It sounds like whatever it is, it's detecting lack of activity (or something) and automatically disconnecting you. There's bound to be a control in the software, and there is certainly a control in a router, to keep your connection alive.
