my home network, I use the Airport base station for my G4 powerbook and another wireless router is attached to the Airport Base station for the PCs

I have Panther and others use XP

Lately the modem keeps resetting (disconnect) itself about every 30mins to an hour. Could it be the setup? Probelm with Panther/XP? or the cable modem and ISP problem?

please help

If you don't use the modem on your mac machine de-select the port configuration in the Network Preference. Sometimes it interfers with the Ethernet setting

it's probably the ISP if the cable modem is losing it's IP. did you change it recently? did they take down the mac address of the cable modem?

on another note, you did give the wireless router a static IP on the AP base station right? otherwise the PC network may seem dead when the router refreshes it's DHCP lease from the AP base.

i'm actually curious as to why you are using 2 wireless access points unless you're trying to keep the machines from being on the same subnet.

We didn't change the Modem or the setup in 6 months and the disconnecting "syndrome" is only happening in the last 2 months.

I've tried to access the AP from the PCs but it didn't work. The network is available but they cannot access with the correct password... and same thing happens to the Mac, i can see the network in my menu bar but I cannot access it with the right password SOMETIMES. Kinda weird.
