I have a couple of difference but related questions.
I currently have an airport network and an Epson C80 connected to it via a D-Link DP-101 ethernet print server.
I can print to it reliably using Epson's supplied Appletalk drivers from my Cube which is connected to the network using ethernet.
Printing from our iBook, which is connected to the network via airport, works but isn't nearly as reliable. The first attempt to print often fails. Unplugging the print server and the printer and then plugging them back in again will get things to function.
Is this an issue with using Appletalk over Airport? Is it a problem with the print server?
Here's the other question. I'm generally dissatisfied with the Epson. I'm tired of all the clogs and the expensive ink carts.
I really like the Canon i560/i860s but as far as I now they don't have appletalk drivers or good gimp-print drivers. Any good reliable ways to get one of these on my network besides connecting it directly to one of the computers?
My alternative is to get a network ready HP, but both the initial cost and the consumable costs are high.
Thanks!

Why, if I may ask, would you need AppleTalk drivers?
If you're running OS X 10.2 or up, the built-in printer sharing works great, and if you wanted to put it right on the network without having it connected to a computer, you could get a parallel port or USB print server (this then prints over IP).
In OS 9, you can use USB Printer Sharing, although I think the Canon drivers might even have sharing of their own.

OK, here is where I get confused. All of the documentation for the networked print servers say you have to be using a postscript capable printer with OSX for ip printing over a network, and to use appletalk to conect. I also have an Epson C80, a Cube with OSX.2, and an HP laptop with XP home. These are networked with a Linksys dual band wireless router. I wanted to add the D-link usb print server and eliminate the wires from the laptop AND the Cube, but I cannot find a clear answer on whether the C80 is postscript capable, or if this is truly necessary, as I have seen other posts of individuals whith ethernet print servers and Mac's. Help!
