hello!! i just got a new computer and would like to transfer my files from the old to the new (pm g3 to emac), but i do not have an ethernet cable. is it possible to connect one to the other? and if yes, how do i do it? is it possible to connect modem to modem? or do i need to just use my idisk? preference would be if it is possible to do it over the phone line between modems as dial up can be pretty slow. smile. . . .thanks so much!!

use a firewire cable and boot one of the machines while holding the T key. then copy the files over.

If you don't have either a firewire or ethernet cable, you're kind of stuck. I'd go out and get one of each, just to have them handy since they're not terribly expensive. Make sure you pay attention to what kind of connector you need to connect both computers with a firewire cable, because there are several different kinds.
