My Airport Graphite Base has the famous fried capacitors problem. Instead of having it repaired for 50 bucks or more (I probably can't do it my self), I want to sell it's working parts. The Lucent Wireless PC card is a sure bet for ebay, as is the case (for someone who has a scratched case or sth.).

But can I extract the modem to sell it separately?

The modem is probably soldered right onto the main board (like you see on motherboards with onboard modem and ethernet). Pop it open and see.

That's the point: I have it open in front of me. But I'm not too firm about what the modem actually is.

That's why I asked.

This site has a very well organized, and almost exhaustive display of the guts of a graphite ABS. It points out which part is the modem, but as you'll see, it seems to be a pretty off-the-wall part. It is the smaller board on the opposite side of the main board from the card slot and power supply capatitors. As far as I can tell, it's specific to a graphite ABS.

Actually, it's the same modem used in all AGP G4's up to the QuickSilvers, inclusive.

Wow, I didn't realize that. In the pictures you don't get that good a view of the card, and I haven't (haven't had the guts to) torn open an ABS to paw around. That should be good for Andreas-it's not THAT specific a part, so it should be easier to sell.
