Okay, I've read some of the very helpful posts here about setting up a wireless network, but I'm new to this and need a little confirmation and help choosing hardware. My proposed setup:

cable modem-->wireless router-->2 airport-equipped Macs (one running OS 10.3, one running 9.2)

In addition, there is an Epson USB printer (not wireless) which I'd like to access from both computers.

My questions:

1. Are there wireless routers that have a USB connection as well, and can I plug the printer into this and get access from the two wirelessly connected computers?

2. Is an Apple Base Station better for this setup since I'm running both OS 9 and X and an AppleTalk printer?

I would really appreciate any advice or hardware recommendations!

I'm a little leery of these, since I tried once to use an Epson wireless print server and just could never get the thing to work. Is there a type of wireless router that has a USB port where I can just plug the printer in? Can I do this with Apple's Airport Extreme Base Station?

Thanks, any advice is welcome.

I'm not sure I'm answering your question properly, but I have an AEBS that I finally got around to configuring for printing. Just had to plug the printer into the base station's USB port. There are some configuring issues in the AEBS settings (specifically about diasbling or NOT diasbling the "distribute IP addresses -- and unfortunately I cannot remember what I did!), but it really wasn't difficult at all.

And it works beautifully -- for the first print job, you just have tyo make sure you go through "rendezvous" and not just select the printer that was selected before. In other words, you have to "add" the rendezvous printer.

Hope that helps.

Thank you bbales, that's what I'm asking. Does the printer have to be a Rendezvous-enabled model? The one I'll be setting up is an Epson 740, which I don't think has Rendezvous.
