I use Panthers built-in VPN-client to access the internet from my home computer. However, it seems to fall down from time to time, often when I'm not around. This makes SSH and ARD connections fairly difficult, since the computer is not online when I'm sitting at my laptop somewhere, trying to reach it.

Is there a way to set up these little things:
1) Auto-connect VPN when (re)booted
2) Auto-reconnect VPN if dropped
3) Send me a mail or a message somehow, stating the IP-address (dynamic, practically never get the same address) when reconnected.

The computer is a dualG5 running latest Panther with all patches. The only change I've made is a minor edit in the preferences.plist in order to get the VPN to connect using PAP authentication.
