What would be the impact be if I installed the lastest AEBS update and enable WPA on it, on my wife's ability to connect to it from her Dell laptop? Is WPA a Panther-only thing (at this point)? Would her wireless card need an updated driver?

WPA is not Panther only. Check for firmware updates for your wife's wireless card. I know Cisco has firmware updates for their cards to active WPA.

Yes, it depends on whether or not your wife's card supports WPA. If it does, then you need to set it up properly to work with your AEBS, but WPA is a STANDARD-with the right settings, everybody's WPA-supporting cards should work with everybody's WPA-supporting access points.
