How can I set a password on my Wi Fi network to stop the cheapskates next door to me using it.

My router is Linksys and I am connecting to it directly with an iMac and wireless via airport extreme on an iBook.

What is the best way to protect it?

Thanks.

1. Set up WEP on the LinkSys and your Mac - see: http://www.ibookzone.com/linksys.shtml

2. Set up MAC address filtering on the LinkSys

3. Turn off SSID broadcast on the Linksys.

4. Change the default SSID on the LinkSys

I recommend going next door and saying, "Hey, punks. How would you guys like some cheap internet? Give me 10 bucks a month and I'll let you guys use my wireless."

If they don't, secure it.
