I have my Powerbook and my PC desktop (running Win98) connected via cross-over cable. My Mac detects my PC, but my PC doesn't detect my Mac.

I can't figure out what's going on. I go into 'Find/Computer' in Win98 and that does nothing. They're both on the same network that was default titled 'Workgroup' by both machines. I'm at a loss.

I've never done file sharing before and don't have any ideas on what to do next.

what version of the mac os are you running?

if 10.3, make sure you have windows file sharing turned on.

You need to set an ip (10.0.0.10 for OS X, 10.0.0.20 for Win), enable windows sharing and then type //10.0.0.10/ in the explorer window.
