I have been having trouble with my DLink 614+ router. It has "quit working" twice and I've had to call tech support. They were ready to replace it today when an upper level tech got it "working" again. He promised that if I had any other trouble with it, they would definitely replace it.

My question is this: my signal doesn't appear to be as strong. Is it possible for the router's signal to "weaken" if it is not working properly?

Thanks

It is possible that the radio system in your D-Link box is failing. One sign of a component failing in any radio radio equipment is decreased power output and/or receive strength. I'd take the tech guys up on their offer and have them send you a new one.
