This probably is a real beginner's question, but I'm living in a college dorm right now and attempted to file share with a few other friends. What I wanted to ask was how can I be able to see or identifiy the other people that are logged in to my computer in the dorm, preferably through the Terminal or any other application advice would be welcome.

I attempted to run a search for any similar topics but had trouble finding anything relevant. Thanks for any input

thanks for the suggestion. I downloaded all three of them and attempted to log into one computer from another using Appetalk. It doesn't show me who are are logged in and it really slows down the machine. As Im typing this Im waiting for the text to finish. Are there any Terminal commands that I can use to give me the same output?

That's funny. It works for me and doesn't seem to slow down my 400MHz G4 running Panther. Did you follow the instructions in the ReadMe file about modifying the plist file?

awesome, I got it to work. Just a few questions tho, I notice the 'a' but what does the '0' signify right nxt to it? Is that an idicated how many people are logged in? I see my other computer's IP address but it hasn't changed to a '1' or something else. Thank for all your help

Dunno, I haven't used it much myself. It seems to me that the number should indicate the number of people logged in.
